PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor House in Peshawar was opened for general public again on Sunday.

The Governor House now remains open for the students of girls schools and colleges from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Sundays. This Sunday, the students of Jamrud Girls Degree College, Khyber tribal district, and Government Girls Degree College, Gulshan Rehman, Peshawar are visiting the Governor House.

Officials at the Governor House say prior permission from the authorities is mandatory for the visiting the place. Families visit the Governor House on Fridays between 2:00pm to 5:00pm and they are also allowed to bring children below 12 years of age. The families cannot bring food with them while visiting the Governor House and they can only visit the designated areas in the premises.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during its election campaign had pledged to open the gates of governor houses for public and after winning the polls, the governor houses in Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar are now open for public at selected timings.
