Governor, CM houses in scenic valleys to be open for tourists

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to open Chief Minister Houses, Governor Houses and speaker house along with KP government rest houses for general public and tourists.

This was revealed by Senior Provincial Minister for tourism, culture, sports and youth affair Muhammad Atif Khan. He said that KP has 174 rest houses in scenic valleys of the province which are open for public and it can book by tourists online to avoid any inconvenience.

He said that the provincial cabinet has already given approval to the KP tourism act and now it will be presented on the floor of KP assembly for approval. After it is passed from the assembly, a Tourism authority will be established in the province and tourism zones will be set up to make proper efforts for tourism development.

Atif added that tourist’s delegations coming from outside the country will now directly contact the tourism department of the province. He also revealed that tourism police will also be set up under the tourism authority which will provide protection as well as work as a guide for the local and foreign tourists.

Independence Day car rally

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar district administration will arrange a grand car rally on the evening of August 13 in Hayatabad as part of Independence Day celebrations, said a statement issued on Friday.

The districts administration said that all the arrangements have been made to celebrate the Independence Day with pomp and show. District sports officer Jaffar Shah said that cars participating in the rally will be fully decorated in connection with August 14 celebrations. He added beautifully decorated cars will also be awarded prizes at the end of car rally by deputy commissioner Peshawar, who will be the chief guest.

Jaffar Shah said that the car rally will start at 5 pm from Hayatabad sports complex.
