PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has suspended the medical superintendent and agency surgeon over a music programme on the premises of Agency Headquarters Hospital Miranshah, North Waziristan.

Local sources said a music programme was arranged at the hospital to celebrate a wedding ceremony and performers were brought from Bannu district to entertain the guests. The late night music programme disturbed the patients and attendents at the hospital.

The authorities took notice of the matter after the issue was highlighted in the media and the tribal elders also expressed astonishment over the matter.

A committee was formed to investigate the matter and present report within three days. On the report of the inquiry committee, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra suspended the agency surgeon and medical superintendent of the hospital.

However, the doctors of the hospital have said the dance party was arranged outside the hospital in a residential area and not even a single doctor participated in that programme. They said the issue has brought bad name for the doctors.
