PESHAWAR, 11 November: The federal government has launched passport home delivery service in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Tuesday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the passport home delivery service will be expanded in the whole country within four months. He said Rs200 to Rs250 additional charges will be received from the passport applicants for home delivery service. The minister said the validity of the passports has been increased to 10 years and applicants will now be able to receive their passports within 10 days of applying for the same. He said applicants will also be able to utilize urgent passport service under which they will receive passport within four days.

Mr Nisar said the government has also launched the online identity card renewal system four months ago. He said under the system an applicant can apply online for renewal of the identity card. He said the online system for renewal of identity cards has been greatly appreciated by the people.
