PESHAWAR, September 17: The Zalan Communications, a research organisation in the private sector, has said in a report that the government has ignored the problems of the internally displaced persons from North Waziristan tribal region.
Launching the research report in Peshawar on 16 September, the Zalan Communications chief Mr Ashraf said their study was meant to address the problems being faced by the IDPs and to find out which organisations were working on their issues.
He said his organisation had also set up a helpline, with the collaboration of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, to listen to complaints of IDPs.
“We are trying to ensure fair distribution of relief items. In the past, there have been cases in which a displaced family got relief items beyond its needs while another did not even receive a bed sheet,” he added.
