PESHAWAR, 24 April: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf has announced Hajj Policy for the current year.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the federal minster said that this year 143,360 Pakistani will perform Hajj and process of submitting applications with the ministry would start on 27th of this month. Last date for submission of applications is May 8. Fifty per cent of the total quota has been given to private Hajj operators. A draw would be held if the number of the applications exceeds the quota reserved for Pakistani pilgrims.
He informed the media-persons covering the news conference that Hajj expenses for the current year would be less than the corresponding year. The government Hajj package has been fixed at Rs. 264,000 which includes provision of food items. Each pilgrims would have to deposit another Rs. 14,210 for sacrificial animal. The federal minister said those who have performed Hajj during the last five years would not be allowed to apply for Hajj this year.
