PESHAWAR: The widow of the late Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour has returned the compensation cheque of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Samar Haroon Bilour said her husband sacrificed his life for the country. She said the Bilour family had always shown bravery against terrorism. She said that her father-in-law Bashir Ahmad Bilour was martyred by terrorists while her husband had also become victim of terrorism. However, she said Bilour family would not be intimidated through such acts of cowardice.
The KP government on Thursday issued compensation cheques to the heirs of the victims of Peshawar suicide blast in which a cheque of Rs0.5 million was sent to the widow of ANP leader and candidate from PK-78, Haroon Bilour, which was returned to the provincial government.
Earlier, media reports said that the wife of Haroon Bilour is going to contest the election in her husband’s place from PK-78 constituency of Peshawar.
Haroon Bilour was martyred in a suicide bombing during a corner meeting of the ANP in Yakatoot area last week. Haroon’s father Bashir Bilour was also martyred in a suicide attack in 2012.
