PESHAWAR: The protest and hunger strike of the Hazara community members against target killing of the community in continued for the second consecutive day in Quetta on Tuesday.

The protest has been organised by the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s (MWM) outside the Balochistan Assembly. The women of Hazara community are also observing hunger strike outside Quetta Press Club against the killing of innocent Hazara people.

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal visited the protest camp on Monday night, but the protesters refused to end the protest until Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visit them. Ahsan Iqbal said the state will pursue its campaign against terrorism till elimination of last terrorist. He said the terrorists are actually targeting Pakistan by targeting Hazaras. He requested the protesters to end the sit-in, but the protesters refused.

At least six Hazara community members have been killed and three injured in separate incidents of targeted killings in Quetta during the last four days. The Hazara community people observed shutter down strike after the incidents.
