PESHAWAR, 16 August: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has assured to forward a summary to the Finance department regarding approval of health professional allowance for the non-clinical employees of government hospitals.

A delegation of health employees association on Tuesday called on secretary Health Abid Majeed and apprised him about their demand of health professional allowance for IT, technical staff and class-IV employees of government hospitals.

The secretary assured the delegation that they demand would be considered and a summary in this regard would be forwarded to the Finance department.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had approved special incentives for doctors, nurses and paramedics as health professional allowance. The non-clinical employees had been protesting as the same was not approved for them. They had held a protest demonstration outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly a few days ago.

President of the health employees association Waris Khan has threatened to lay siege around the Chief Minister house if their demands were not met till August 31.

“The KP government had approved health professional allowance for doctors, nurses and paramedical staff but left out the technical staff and class-IV employees. We want that the same allowance may also be approved for the 23000 non-clinical staff as they are also integral part of the health delivery system,” Waris Khan argued while talking to TNN.
