PESHAWAR, 20 November: Imam Ghazali Medical University Peshawar chapter  has been sealed by Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) for illegally functioning for the last five years, says a press release issued here on Friday

HERA said in its statement that  the institution was neither registered in Pakistan nor in Afghanistan. It said that several meetings were held with the owner of the institution, Dr. Riaz Sharaf Zai persuading him either to get the institution registered with the authority or to shift the institution to Afghanistan. However, a series of deadlines followed by notices were ignored by him.

It further said that  Afghan Consulate General in Peshawar had approached the authority to take action against this illegally functioning medical University. Some of the students enrolled with the university also visited office of the authority on a number of occasions to express their concerns and grievances about their future.
