PESHAWAR, 28 May: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced holiday at educational institutions in all the districts, while general holiday has been announced in Peshawar for the local bodies polls.

According to a statement of the Education Department, all the educational institutions will remain closed tomorrow and day after tomorrow (Saturday). It said the summer vacations in plain areas of KP will also begin from Monday.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud has announced general holiday in the provincial metropolis for tomorrow and Saturday.

Local bodies elections for over 41,000 seats in KP will be held on Saturday. According to KP Inspector General Police Nasir Durrani, over 2,500 among total 11,000 polling stations have been declared sensitive. He said 100-metre area in the radius of all the sensitive polling stations will be considered security zone.

The security agencies have adopted strictest security measures in Peshawar considering it most sensitive city during the local bodies polls.
