PESHAWAR, 18 May: The holidays of all the police officials in Peshawar have been cancelled till the local bodies polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scheduled to be held on 30 May owing to security concerns.

Security measures have also been enhanced in the whole city. According to reports of security agencies, terrorists have planned attacks in Peshawar to disrupt the local bodies polls. Additional cordons have been put in place and orders have been issued to all the police stations to ensure patrolling in day and night times.

Additional cops have also been deployed in different parts of the city to ensure peaceful environment.

According to reports, more than 19,000 candidates are contesting the LB polls whereas more than 1,300,000 voters would use their voting right on the day of elections.
