Hussain Nawaz appears before Panama Leaks JIT

ISLAMABAD, 28 May: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz on Sunday appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed by the Supreme Court to investigate offshore properties of Sharif family.
Hussain Nawaz spent more than two-hour long session with the six-member JIT team at the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad. He answered the JIT questions and recorded his statement in the Panamagate scandal.
Talking to media outside the Federal Judicial Academy, before appearing in the JIT, Hussain Nawaz said that the JIT had sent him notice yesterday without any details and questions to be asked during the proceedings.
FIA Director General Wajid Zia was chairing the six-member JIT team’s session.
It is pertinent to be mentioned here that a special bench of the Supreme Court has fixed May 29 for hearing a plea by Hussain Nawaz, who has expressed reservations over two members of the JIT. He has alleged that the two members of JIT have political affiliations with Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q).
