PESHAWAR, 28 May: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura for two matches for slow over rate in the first match of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

According to a statement of the ICC, the Zimbabwe team were three overs short at the end of the allotted time during their bowling against Pakistan at Gaddafi Cricket Stadium. The Zimbabwe captain was suspended after the report of Aleem Dar and Russell Tiffin.

Besides that the ICC has also imposed fine of 40 percent match fee on all Zimbabwe players for slow over rate. After suspension, Zimbabwe Captain Elton Chigumbura will not be available for the remaining two ODIs against Pakistan.

Zimbabwe lost the first ODI match against Pakistan by 41 runs despite Chigumbura’s brilliant ton.
