PESHAWAR, September 2: The FATA Disaster Management Authority has asked the federal government to release funds worth 1.50 billion rupees.

The FDMA sent a letter to the federal government, saying that the government must provide the fund for provision of 12,000 rupees each to the registered families displaced from North Waziristan and to fulfill their other necessities.

It said that provision of monthly aid would be stopped if the funds were not released on time.

About 95,000 people have been registered since the army launched the Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan and the National Database and Registration Authority has approved 55,183 families for financial aid.
