PESHAWAR, September 23: President of Pakistan, Mr Mamnoon Hussain, has assured the displaced families of North Waziristan tribal region that rehabilitation of families would be started in the areas, which have been cleared through military operation.
Address a tribal Jirga in Peshawar yesterday, the president said that he would take the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to send back the IDPs to their areas cleared of militants.
On the occasion, the president announced to finance the higher education expenses of 50 students of the tribal areas from his own pocket. He also called the authorities of FATA Secretariat to Islamabad to discuss and resolve the issues of IDPs.
He also met traders, businessmen and people from other walks of life during his visit.
