CHARSADDA, 4 November: Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Salahuddin Mehsud on Saturday ordered inquiry into alleged police encounter in Charsadda.
A suspected outlaw, a station house officer and a policeman had died in the encounter took place three days ago in Majoki village.
Deputy Inspector General Mardan asked district police officer Charsadda to complete investigation and submit a report till November 6.
The directions were issued after villagers held the police party responsible for the gun fight.
The villages said that the police party, without any warrant and information about the presence of outlaws, entered the house of deceased Zahir Shah.
They said that deceased Zahir Shah opened fire on the police in fear as the latter violated right to privacy and killed an innocent person.
However, the police said that the encounter took place when a police party led by SHO Prang Police Station against illegal weapon.
The residents demanded of the government to order judicial inquiry into the incident
