PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan pinned badges of Police ranks to Levies and Khasadars on Tuesday, after the KP government announced their complete merger with KP Police.

The IGP also awarded commendation Certificates and distributed gifts amongst them.

Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ajmal Wazir, Additional IGP Headquarters, Investigation, Elite Special Branch, CCPO Peshawar, DIG CTD, Headquarter, Finance & Procurement, Investigation, AIGs Establishment and Welfare, DPOs of NMD and other high ranking police officials were present on this historic occasion.

The IGP while addressing the gathering appreciated the services of the levies and Khasadar force personnel in the challenging situation putting their precious lives in extreme danger in the line of duty. He added that they have fully safeguarded the frontiers as well as the lives of the local dwellers in an effective manner which will never be forgotten by people of the country.

“Infect, they worked as a first defence line against the miscreants in all the tribal districts of the province”, said the IGP while paying tributes to the services of Khasadars and Levies men.

The IGP termed the step of merging their services with KP police as a good omen and decorated police badges to the shoulders of Khasadars and Levies officials.

The IGP expressed the hope that they will follow their new responsibilities more vigorously and make the best use of their capabilities for solidarity and integrity of the country as well as bringing much-needed peace and tranquillity in the province.

The IGP opined that the officials decorated with police badges will face no difficulties in the new set-up and he will personally look after their welfare and betterment of service. The IGP hoped that after pinning police badges on their shoulders, they will work more hard for maintenance of peace in the remote region and will add more feathers in the rich cap of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. The IGP on this occasion announced that the contingent comprising of Newly Merged District jawans will perform escort & guard duty with him throughout the province.
