Implementation commission on 10-Year FATA development programme holds first meeting

PESHAWAR: The first meeting of implementation commission of 10-year development programme for FATA was held at the Governor House on Wednesday.

The meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra was also attended by former governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, members of the commission, additional chief secretary FATA and other officials. participants of the meeting presented different proposals for development in various sectors in the tribal areas. The meeting agreed that emphasis will be made on development of education, health, infrastructure, industry, agriculture and mineral development sectors to bring FATA into the national mainstream.

Meanwhile, Senator Taj Muhammad said reforms in FATA will increase the pace of development in the tribal areas and tribal youth will get job opportunities.

Addressing a gathering in Landikotal on Wednesday, Senator Taj Muhammad assured that the jobs of Khassadars will not be affected with implementation of reforms. He said Khassadars have given countless sacrifices for the country. He said the jobs of Khassadars will be protected.
