PESHAWAR, 3 June: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has offered fresh local bodies polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after rigging allegations.
Talking to media persons in Islamabad yesterday, the PTI chief said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take decision on either holding re-elections on all seats or specific seats where there are rigging allegations. He said mismanagement occurred in the local bodies polls as every voter was to poll seven votes. He said many PTI supporters also could not cast their votes.
Mr Khan said the PTI will not challenge the decision of the ECP in court if it ordered re-elections in KP. The PTI chief’s offer came after the political parties hurled rigging allegations on the KP government in the May 30 local bodies polls.
He said the PTI will bag more seats if re-elections were held in KP. He said he was disappointed over the rigging allegations.
