PESHAWAR, August 29: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Mr Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri have accepted offer of the Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to play role of mediator in negotiations to resolve issues with the government.
Mr Imran Khan said that General Raheel Sharif had offered to play role as mediator for investigations into alleged rigging of the May 2013 elections.
“The army chief also assured to form a judicial commission for investigations,” Mr Khan said.
Meanwhile, Dr Tahirul Qadri has also said that he delayed his Inqilab (revolution) till today as the army chief had assured him to resolve the issues.
Dr Tahirul Qadri also said that the original first information report (FIR) of the Model Town incident, Lahore was not shown to the media and that the original report has not been filed against the prime minister, Punjab chief minister and 1 government officials.
Both the political leaders said that if Punjab Chief Minister Mr Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif did not resign today, they would give a new shape to their protest rallies.
