PESHAWAR, October 24: The Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission has said that the new electricity meters, installed by power distribution companies, run 30-35 percent faster than the old ones.
It also said the companies can adjust the speed of the new meters as per their needs.
The commission has asked the companies to normalise the speed of the meters and asked them to submit reply with regards to inflated electricity bills being issued to consumers.
Analysts say the government has formed the commission after being pressured by the opponent parties. They have called for more investigation and solution to the problem of extra electricity tariff in the country.
“I have received electricity bill and I have been charged more than what I electricity I have used at my home. This is unfair, sheer injustice,” stated Abdullah, a resident of Peshawar
