PESHAWAR, 28 November: The inter-women universities squash championship began here at the Mohibullah Khan Squash Complex, Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Center on Monday.

The championship is being organized by the High Education Commission (HEC). Vice chancellor of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Dr. Razia Sultana was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. Directress Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rasheeda Ghaznavi was also present on the occasion.

As many as 52 players from eight women colleges and universities from all over the country are participating in the event. The players are divided into four different categories.


On the opening day of the championship, Iqra University beat Lahore College for Women while Punjab University beat Imperial College for Business Studies.

Kanwal, a student of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University told TNN that she was very excited that female students of different universities and colleges were participating in the event. She added she would try her best to show good performance and win medals for her university.
