PESHAWAR, 16 May: Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif has directed the prime intelligence agency of the country, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to expedite action against foreign spy agencies involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during a visit to the ISI headquarters in Rawalpindi yesterday, the Army chief underlined the need for establishing coordination among all the intelligence agencies of the country to combat terrorism jointly and effectively. He heaped praise on ISI and said that most of its achievements, due to its sensitive nature of job, are not made public, but they are performing a significant role in safeguarding the country.

Earlier, ISI Director General Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar briefed the COAS about the security issues.
