PESHAWAR, October 31: The Pakistani Prime Minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif, has approved decrease in the prices of petrol and diesel.
The price of petrol has been lowered by 9.43 rupees per litre and that of diesel by 6.18 rupees.
Following the decision about reduction in the prices at the federal cabinet meeting, the new price of petrol is 94.10 rupees per litre and that of diesel 101.21 rupees per litre.
The price of kerosene oil has also been cut by eight rupees or so and prices of other petroleum products have also registered a decrease.
Citizens have appreciated the reduction in the fuel prices and asked transporters to lower the public transport fares as per the new rates now.
“The authorities should also make sure that transporters lower their fares to benefit the masses,” stated Mr Abdullah, a Peshawarite who commutes in public transport occasionally.
