PESHAWAR, September 13: The Islamabad Police clashed with activists of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehrik at district courts in the federal capital when the arrested political activists were being taken to court.
The protesters also deflated the tyres of the police van. The court sent up to 100 workers of PTI and PAT to the jail on judicial remand for violating the Section-144.
On the other hand, PTI leader Mr Jehangir Tareen has said that about 800 of their party workers have been arrested and that they were innocent. He said negotiations would never progress till their workers were released.
PTI chief Mr Imran Khan has decided to celebrate the completion of one month of his party’s sit-ins in Islamabad and he has asked his workers to reach the venue on 14 August. PTI activists say their colleagues were arrested to mar their celebration.
