MINGORA, August 26: Residents of Kalam valley in Swat district say the ongoing protests in Islamabad have affected their business.
They say they are suffering huge financial losses because their vegetables are being wasted and not supplied to markets on time.
TNN correspondent in Swat says potatoes, tomatoes and other vegetables are supplied from Oshu, Mataltaan and Atroorh areas of Kalam valley to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore and other areas.
However, the supplies have been affected due to protests and uncertain situation in Islamabad.
The local residents have demanded the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
“Our vegetables get spoiled while reaching markets due to the ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad. We appeal the government to compensate our people,” said one of the farmers.
