PESHAWAR, 22 February: Islamabad United cruised into the final of the inaugural edition of Pakistan Super League after defeating the League’s favorite Peshawar Zalmi by 50 runs in the third play off in Dubai on Sunday.
The Islamabad United will face Quetta Gladiators in the final which will be played tomorrow (Tuesday) in Dubai.
The Peshawar Zalmi team won the toss and put Islamabad United in to bat. The Islamabad team scored 176-3 in the allotted 20 overs. Sharjeel Khan scored the first century of the PSL. He hit eight sixes and 12 fours in his 117-run inning.
Chasing a high target, the Peshawar Zalmi batsmen stumbled with regular interval. They were all out on 126 in the 18th over.
Sharjeel Khan was named man of the match.
