PESHAWAR: Police in Jamrud has nabbed the alleged murderer of a 15-year-old student, Kashif Afridi, said the district Police officer Khyber in a press conference at the Jamrud Press club.
People of the area appreciated the effort and said that the arrest has been made possible due to the extension of KP police to tribal belt. Jamrud police said that the school teacher, identified as Roidad, a resident of Sardar Kally, was found involved in the murder after the initial investigation. He was presented to the media where police said that the accused has accepted his crime.
According to details, Kashif Afridi, a 15-year-old student of a private school was killed between October 7 and October 8. Addressing a media briefing at the Jamrud Press Club, DPO Khyber Muhammad Hussain, Investigation Officer Abid Afridi, DSP Jahangir Afridi, SHO Jamrod Gula Jan Afridi said that the school teacher Rohid was involved in the murder of Kashif Afridi.
The DPO Khyber Mohammed Hussein told the media that the accused has accepted the crime while the instrument of murder was also recovered from the possession of the accused. He said that the investigating team had detected the blind murder in just four days, DPO Mohammad Hussain said that after the FATA integration it was a test case for police in the tribal area.
“I pay tribute to the entire investigative team,” the DPO said, announcing Rs 20,000 and complimentary certificates for the investigative team. He added that he would also recommend further prizes for the investigative team to the higher police authorities.
The teenager, Kashif who went missing a day earlier, was found dead in the Jamrud tehsil in the Khyber district on Tuesday, official sources said. Locals said that a 14-year-old Kashif, son of Sohrab Khan, went out from home at night in Nawan Killay and did not return. They said the next day his body was found in a seasonal dry stream. The police shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy and started an investigation after registering a case against unknown accused.
