PESHAWAR, 09 March: Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi on Thursday rejected media reports that Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan has suggested organizing a three-match series between Peshawar Zalmi and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
“We always welcome cricket for peace ,but there is no truth about KKR and Peshawar Zalmi matches just speculations,” Javed Afrid tweeted on Thursday  while rejecting media reports that Shah Rukh Khan, who co-owns KKR, has suggested matches between Peshawar Zalmi and KKR.
Earlier media reported that Shah Rukh Khan has congratulated Javed Afridi and offered a series between the winners of T20 leagues, if governments of India and Pakistan permitted at a neutral venue.
“Shah Rukh called me and asked to convince Pakistan government for a series and he would talk to Indian government,” media quoted Javed Afridi as saying. He said that he received congratulatory messages from Indian actor Sanjay Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover.
The Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani had also congratulated Javed Afridi and invited Peshawar Zalmi to visit Kabul.
