PESHAWAR, 21 December: Famous Australian former cricketer, commentator and coach Dean Jones arrived in Pakistan on Sunday night to take over as coach of the Islamabad United team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Twenty20 tournament after being sent back earlier for not having a valid visa.

Earlier, Dean Jones had arrived in Lahore from Dubai on Saturday night but he was sent back by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials for not possessing a valid visa. However, he was welcomed second time when he arrived again with all necessary documents.

The PSL Twenty20 tournament will be held in Dubai and Sharjah from 4 February. Teams from the four Pakistani provinces and Islamabad will participate in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered an inquiry into Mr Jones’ arrival in Pakistan without proper documents. He said all the foreigners visiting Pakistan will have to abide by the law of the land.
