PESHAWAR, 10 November: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has rejected the proposal of introducing pant-shirt uniform in the government schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to media persons in Peshawar on Monday, the JI provincial ameer Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said the JI will not allow violation of tradition of shalwaar-kameez uniform in the government schools. He said the JI, which is an allied party of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the KP government, will soon meet Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on the issue as they have not been taken into confidence over the matter.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department is working on a proposal for introducing pant-shirt uniform at the government schools and a decision in this regard is expected soon.
