BANNU, 27 October: The youth of North Waziristan Agency and Frontier Region (FR) Bannu on Monday arranged a Jirga in support of merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Jirga which was organised in Government High School No.4 Bannu was attended by people from different walks of life and elders of North Waziristan and FR Bannu. Organiser of the Jirga, Dr Muhib Wazir said on the occasion that peace, prosperity and development in tribal areas is linked to merger with KP. He said the tribal people have united for the merger of FATA with KP for better future of the region. He said this movement will continue till achievement of set objectives.
“We have decided to hold a walk from Milad Park to Bannu Press Club at 10:00am on 2 November. We will also arrange a public meeting at the same venue on 9 November at 03:00pm to pursue our demand,” Mr Wazir said.
He said the tribal youth have awakened now and they will come in the way of those who want to damage the interest of the region.
