PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman said that tribal Jirga system would be given legal cover to ensure speedy dispensation of justice to people of tribal areas.
Talking to media here at Governor Secretariat, he said that educated youth will be made part of the Jirga.
He promised that the government would not introduce laws that would do away with positive customs while the tribal people continue to receive perks as they did before merger.
He added that power to rule the tribal areas would rest with governor for some time that be devolved after holding local government elections in tribal districts.
Commenting on fencing of border, he said that fencing would help contain cross border terrorism as well as arrival of illegal Afghans. He said that museum and parks would be constructed in governor house that would remain open for families and students on Thursday and Friday.
