CHARSADDA: Four people, including a journalist, were shot dead during a Jirga to resolve a domestic dispute in Charsadda on Tuesday.

Local sources said a Jirga was being held in Tala Shah area of Sherpao in Charsadda to resolve a domestic dispute when the accused, Asif Jamal opened fire, killing four people, including journalist Ihsan Sherpao, two women and a child. The accused fled the scene after committing the crime.

The bodies of the deceased persons were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Charsadda. Sources said the accused had also allegedly shot dead his wife recently. Police have filed a case against the accused and started search for him.

Ihsan Sherpao was a well-known journalist and general secretary of Charsadda Press Club. The journalist community have expressed grave concern over the killing of Ihsan Sherpao and demanded immediate arrest of his killer.
