QUETTA, 22 July: Khan of Kalat Mir Suleman Daud has said the grand jirga of Baloch elders will decide about his return to Pakistan.
A special delegation of the Balochistan government comprising leaders from Mastung, Quetta and Kalat chapters of the National Party met Khan of Kalat in London last week. The delegation members requested Khan of Kalat to return to Balochistan as his absence from the province has created an unpleasant situation. They appealed to Mr Suleman to play his role in restoration of peace and law and order in Balochistan. They said the people of Balochistan want peace.
However, the delegation failed to bring back the estranged Baloch leader. Khan of Kalat left Pakistan on his own will in 2006 and since then he is living in self-imposed exile in London.
The Balochistan government said the meeting was positive and hoped that it would help in bringing back the estranged Baloch leaders.
Balochistan chief minister’s spokesman Jan Buledi said the provincial government will extend all cooperation to Mr Suleman for arranging the jirga to take decision on his return.
