JAMRUD, November 14: The Khyber Gymnastic Association has set up a free coaching academy for players in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency, where more than 50 players are practicing nowadays.

Mr Mohibullah, the general secretary of the association, said that the players were taking interest in gymnastics as they couldn’t manage to go to Peshawar Sports Complex regularly. That is why, they added, they have set up the centre to facilitate the players in Khyber Agency.

A few players told the TNN that it has become quite easy for them to continue their practices after establishment of the academy in their native area.

“We had always been fond of playing games. We used to face many problems because we had to go to Peshawar for the games. Now because of this centre, we can exercise here. This game requires much practice and it keeps us fit. I love this game but still our academy has fewer facilities compared to the Peshawar Sports Complex. We appeal to the government to facilitate us more,” stated a player.
