PESHAWAR, 05 September: Dozens of Khyber Levies force’s personnel on Monday staged a protest demonstration outside the Fata secretariat here on main Warsak road against the political administration for not assigning them duties.
The protesters set tyres on fire and blocked the main Warsak road for traffic to press the authorities accept their demands.
According to the protesters, they were inducted in the Khyber Levies force after qualifying all the tests about one year ago but the political administration of Khyber agency refused to release letters of their appointment.
They said they moved a petition in the Supreme Court which directed the officials of the Fata Secretariat and Khyber political administration to issue their appointment orders.
“On the orders of the Supreme Court, though the political authorities issued our appointment orders in March last but they did not assign us any posting nor they release our salaries,” a protester said.
Expressing apprehensions about their future, the protesters said they had been visiting the Fata Secretariat on daily basis to get their problems resolved but to no avail.
They demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to intervene into the matter and resolve their problems.
