PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday passed a unanimous resolution asking the federal and provincial government to extend 4G/3G internet service to all tribal districts of the province.

The Awami National Party (ANP) Parliamentary Leader Sardar Hussain Babak presented the resolution saying that people of tribal areas are deprived of internet facility. Babak said that due to destruction during the war on terror tribal people are facing numerous problems. It also includes the non-availability of fast internet facility.

Sardar Babak demanded KP government for providing internet and mobile facilities to tribal people on war footing basis and fulfil the demand of tribal people. The resolution was passed unanimously by the house. Internet facility in tribal districts have been suspended due to the war on terror, however, after the restoration of peace, several announcements were made for its restoration without any positive outcome.

The other resolution presented member of PTI, MMA, JI was also passed unanimously by the house.  A resolution presented by Dr Sumera Shams of PTI demanded that mental health care needs to be incorporated as a core service in Primary care and supported by specialist service. Dr Sumera said that an alarming increase of mental health problems among the young population was being observed and sadly this was the most neglected area in the health-care field.

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) MPA Inayatullah Khan, in another resolution, demanded the construction of new electricity grid station for Tehsil Brawal District Dir Upper on the basis of geographic location and populace ratio. Inayatullah said that Tehsil Brawal was a big tehsil of District Upper Dir bordering not only with Dir Lower but also with Chitral and Afghanistan. In view of the increasing population of the district, a new electricity grid station for Tehsil Brawal District needed to be constructed, he added.

Taking the floor of the provincial assembly, MPA Malik Badshah Saleh of ANP in his resolution said that concrete steps should be taken for the facilitation of disabled persons especially in public parks, schools, colleges and DHQs.
