PESHAWAR, 05 December: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has adopted a unanimous resolution against the alleged changes in the route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The resolution, which was presented by minister for mineral development Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, said the map of the route released by the Planning Commission as well as the allocation of funds in the federal budget showed that the government had made changes in the route of the corridor. The resolution further added that government had already started work on a part of the corridor which passes through Punjab.

The house demanded of the federal government to make public the official map of the route and the agreement signed with the Chinese government regarding CPEC.

It further demanded that work should be started on the western part of the corridor which passes through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as per the unanimous decisions of the All-Parties Conference, held on May 28 with Prime Minister in the chair.
It merits a mention here that this is the second time that the issue of changes in the route of CPEC echoed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. The house had also adopted a resolution in October.
