CHARSADA, 19 November: Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would have been providing cheap electricity to the people had the federal government handed over the control of Pesco to it.

This he said while addressing a public gathering here on Thursday. Imran Khan added that the provincial government contacted the federal government for taking over the control of Pesco but to no avail. “We would have not only completed the needs of the province but the people of KP would be enjoying cheap electricity,” he maintained. “We would also end power theft, decrease loadshedding and increase power generation,” Khan said.

He claimed that KP government is far better than the rest of the three provincial governments. “We established an independent and autonomous Ehtesab commission to curb corruption. We did lot of legislation including Right to Information, Right to Services and Conflict of Interest laws and will be introducing Whistleblower Act,” Imran Khan added.

Addressing on the occasion the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak announced to construct 60km road from Charsada to Shergarh, Mardan. He added the road would be constructed on the pattern of motorway. The gathering was also addressed by PTI provincial organizer Fazal Muhammad Khan.
