PESHAWAR, 20 November: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated 216 residential plots for street children in connection with Universal Children Day.

The provincial government has also appointed Mehar Taj Roghani as Focal Person for Street Children. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan inaugurated the residential plots for street children in Khazana area of Peshawar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khan said facilities of playground, fitness studio and psychologist will also be provided for street children. He said the provincial government will also provide facilities to street children of other districts of the province gradually.

The PTI chief gave the credit of work for street children to his ex-wife Reham Khan. He asked the administration to remain in contact with Reham for welfare of the children in need. On the occasion, Mr Khan also gave the status of honorary ambassador for street children to Reham. He said the proposal of allocating residential flats for the street children was initiated by Reham.
