PESHAWAR, 7 May: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has given autonomous status to four major hospitals of the province under the Teaching Hospitals Reforms Law.

The Health Department secretary said in a statement that separate boards of governors have also been created for Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar, Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Hayatabad Medical Complex and Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.

The autonomous status will now end political intervention in the administrative affairs of these hospitals. All the affairs of these hospitals will be run by the boards of governors.
