PESHAWAR, 28 May: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to utilise Geographical Information System (GIS) to monitor the local bodies elections in Karak and Haripur districts.

According to sources in the KP government, all the polling stations will be in contact with the district headquarters through this system. The sources said information about polling stations, polling staff and voters will also be available through this technology.

GIS is a modern technology which is being used in developed countries for monitoring of different institutions. This technology is being introduced in Pakistan for the first time.
