PESHAWAR, 10 May: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to provide technical training to youth belonging to minority community in different fields.

The government has sought applications from the aspiring youth from the minorities by 1 June for participation in the training programme.

KP Auqaf Department Secretary Ahsan Khan told TNN that training in 10 courses including mobile repairing, electrician, sanitary installation and tailoring will be provided to youth from minority community hailing from Mardan, Nowshera, Battagram, Peshawar, Buner, Kohat, Swat and Dera Ismail Khan.

Mr Khan said the training will benefit 300 participants. He said equipment worth Rs7,000 will also be given to every participant after completion of the training to help them start their own business.

“Unemployment will reduce when the jobless boys and girls get training and start their own business. This is a very positive development. So far we have trained more than 600 boys,” he said.
