PESHAWAR, 28 April: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has said the houses damaged due to thunderstorm and rain will be reconstructed by the provincial government.

Talking to media persons after inquiring about the health of those who sustained injuries in the thunderstorm and rain at the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar yesterday, the chief minister said the KP government cannot assess all the damages quickly as it has to work under a mechanism.

Mr Khattak said on the occasion that he can only express sympathy with the victims. The chief minister added that relief activities have been launched in the affected areas. He said all the damaged houses will be reconstructed by the KP government.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s wife Reham Khan also arrived in Peshawar yesterday and inquired about the health of injured persons at the Lady Reading Hospital.

She said on the occasion that life losses could have been reduced if a proper warning system was in place.
