MINGORA, 06 August: Students who recently passed the SSC examinations but could not get admissions in government colleges due to shortage of seats and high merit, have requested the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to start evening classes for first year students in public sector colleges.

Dozens of students under the banner of Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF) held a demonstration in front of the press club here the other day.

District president of PkSF Ghulam Ali while talking on the occasion said that about 13000 students who recently passed SSC examinations could not get admission in first year due to shortage of seats and high merit.

“Majority of the students are poor and they can afford to get enroll in private colleges due to high monthly fees and other charges.

Meanwhile, member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from the ruling PTI Fazl-e-Hakeem Khan has assured he would take up the matter with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and try to persuade him for starting evening classes in government colleges.
