LANDIKOTAL, 01 August: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra gave away Rs. 300,000 to the families of each 27 participants of a wedding party who were killed after their vehicle was swept away by flashflood triggered by monsoon in a stream in Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Landi Kotal subdivision in Khyber Agency.

The governor paid a visit to Landi Kotal on Monday to pray for the departed souls and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.

The dead people were part of a wedding procession when their vehicle drowned in a flooded stream in Zakha Khel area two days back.

A total of 27 people died in the incident including 18 children, 7 women and 2 men.
