PESHAWAR, 8 October: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved additional one billion rupees under Insaf Food Security Program(IFSP) to buy high quality seeds that will be distributed  free of cost  among the poor farmers of the province,  said a handout on Thursday.
It said the seeds would be given to those farmers who own agricultural land ranging from one acre up to 12 and half acres.
PTI led provincial government has started three years IFSP with a budget of Rs3.77 billions to promote agriculture produce  in the province.
In return the farmers who benefit from the food program will sell out their %50 crop to the government which will help the province to have huge stock of wheat and become self sufficient in food.
Around one million farmers will be supported through IFSP which will increase % 25 wheat productions in the province, the handout said.  It said that in the upcoming budget the KP government will allocate funds to provide fertilizers to farmers on subsidized rates.
