PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced another extension in summer vacations till 25 August.

KP Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Arshid Khan said all the government primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in the province will remain closed till 25 August. The secretary said the decision has been taken keeping in view the upcoming Hajj and Eidul Azha.

The schools will reopen on Monday, 27 August as there is weekly holiday on Sunday, 26 August. The schools in KP were earlier scheduled to reopen after summer vacations on 1 August, but the government had to extend the vacations due to extreme hot weather which was causing severe problems for students and their parents.

However, private educational institutions have not made any announcement about extension in holidays.
